ほたるの夕べのイベント当日

今日（６／１５）は綾部、中上林にてイベント『ほたるの夕べ』が開かれました。

先週の雨、嵐がうそのような晴天にめぐまれ、朝から外での会場設営。

そして『あっ』という間に夕方。音楽が始まり、暗くなるにつれ、お客さんも急に

増え、みなさんホタル観賞を満喫。去年までのホタル祭より人は少なかったようですが、

これくらいの人数がゆったりしてていいのかもしれませんね。

川沿いすわりまったり風情がありました。

今日もいっぱい地元の方にあい、お話ができ新しい縁がうまれ実行委員スタッフにお誘いいただいたことに感謝する一日でした。

Firefly flow besides the river

Today it is wonderful sunny day. It has been rain since last week. So we are lucky to have weather like this.
Preparing tent and table or so are even fun at outside.
And because volunteer come around village and even from city center, I could meet some new people.

And when it gets dark, I was at parking space to guide people where to park.

The firefly emerge so many that men and women of all ages are excited.

←綾部上林にて、かつてここにいた上林一族末裔の上林春松の『綾鷹』を飲む。

The Kambayashi clan used to live here in Kambayashi, Ayabe. then move to Uji (southern Kyoto) to make tea.
They made green tea so famous in Japan.

People eat outside. It was like little early summer festival.






ここで太鼓やブルース、ロック、グループサウンドのライブが開かれました。そとからも見えて、聞こえました。
There are live music here. music like Japanese drum, Blues, Rocks, and Oldies

綾部 イベント情報 / Ayabe Event Information

ホタルイベント

毎年６月、綾部上林ではホタル祭というのが開かれていました。

祭までに上林で集めたホタルを一斉放流するというもの。

（一度も見たことないですが。。）

今年はいろいろな理由からホタル祭はなく、『ほたるの夕べ』と

いうイベントが開かれます。

場所：中上林観光センター

日付：６／１５（日）

当日は屋台やライブ、そしてもちろん川沿いのホタルを各々観賞。

当日僕もお手伝いに行く予定です。

ホタルといえば、すでに奥上林のあやべ温泉下には夜１００匹近く川沿いに表れているようです。

Firefly are coming!

In Kambayashi, Ayabe, every June, there is event called "Hotaru Matsuri" (Hotaru = Firefly, Matsuri = Event).

That event is that locals collect firefly before the event and at that date, set them free at once. but some reason, we don't have that event this year.

Instead of that, we will have other event called "Hotaru no Yube"(means The evening of Firefly)
There are Food stall, live music, and of corse you can take a hike to see firefly besides the river.

As for the firefly, it appeared already near Ayabe-Onsen. Someone told me about hundred of them were out there today.

綾部観光案内4 /Sightseeing in Ayabe 4

光明寺二王門

本尊：千手観音
宗派：真言宗醍醐派

綾部奥上林の君尾山中に位置する。

光明寺は聖徳太子が建立した（５９９年）といわれています。つまりかなり古いです。
その後１０世紀には役小角が修業したといわれています。
何度か焼失し、１９１６年に庫裡が再建された。
　★庫裡
     ‐伽藍と同じ。僧が修業する神聖な場所。
　★役小角
     ‐修験道（山で修業すること）の創始者。
      また伝説では鬼を召喚する法力が
      あったとか。

そしてその光明寺から土道を１０分くらいくだったところにあるのが、昭和２９年に国宝に指定された二王門です。京都府北部で唯一の国宝です。

『仁王』ではなく『二王』なのは、門が二重構造（二階建て）であるからです。
また屋根はトチ葺きで珍しいです。
　★柿葺きなどよりも分厚い。１０～３０ｍｍ
門の建立は鎌倉時代の１２４８年
三間一戸の造り。
　★三間一戸‐三間のうち中央のみ開口している造り

Komyo Temple
Dedicated to Thousand-armed Kannon
Religion : Shingon　Daigo school

This temple are made in 6 century at first by Shotoku Taishi.
It has been destroyed a few times. and rebuild in 1916.
This temple is also said  that Enno-Odune practiced his theory which is called SHUGENDO.

Nio-Gate
This gate is located about 10-minute-walk from Komyo temple.
This gate is made in Kamakura-era (13th century). and now registers as National treasure. and only one in northern Kyoto.

What is wonderful is that the roof is thatched with Japanese horse chestnut. And the word "NIO" means the guardian god of temple (photo below) but there is homonym of the word "NIO" which means Two-storied gate. This place is just middle of Mt Kimio. so even the summer, it is cool up there. Please come to visit.

地域の一助 / A little help for locals)

消防広報活動

本日は消防の広報活動という消防団の活動に参加しました。
内容は二人一組で消防車にのって赤色灯をつけて地域を回るのです。
特にマイクで話しませんが、見回りと地域の火の取り扱いへの注意を喚起。

まあそういった活動以外に、仕事とは別の地元の縁をつなげられるのが魅力かも。
また市内から遠い地域にあるから、実際の火災が起きた場合は即戦力として、
地元を守る立場でもある。

昔の消防団はお酒の強要があったりとか軍隊的なイメージがあるかもしれないが、
今は自分の住む場所は自分でを守ろうという意志のもと集まった人々が多いので、
こういう地域に移住する場合にはぜひ参加してほしいものです。

田舎暮らしは自分だけでは成り立たない、地域、人、風土との繋がりがあってこそ
成り立つと改めて思いました。

Fire brigade

Today was my second time to ride on fire truck. why riding on?
That is because there is one of duty of local fire brigade.
Today there isn't fire. but we patrol from time to time to check everything is alright in our community, and to remind locals to take good care of fire.

Old time local fire brigade is like army, and lots of social gathering to drink more than one can.So year be year member decrease.

But I think to participate is important when you decide to live place like here. We are away from city. So if there is emergency, fire brigade take place of real fire fighter.
The member has strong will.
And not only that but also it is nice to meet other people which I would have never met if i had participated in.

To live in rural side, you cannot live alone. have to help each other.
maybe you don't have one thing that you cannot help "this person", but you may have something that you can help "that person".

野菜の成長/ Veg grow up

うれしい野菜の成長

先月植えた野菜たちが今月の温かさや雨でよく成長しました。
日々大きくなっているのを見れるのうれしいですね。
レタスはもういつでも千切って食べられそう。

トマトには花が咲きました。茄子は微妙ですが、大きくなりました。

                                      Veg grow so fast!

I planted salad lettuce, eggplant, and Tomato in Apr.
Because of the warm weather recently, it grows so fast. I could already eat lettuce.

Tomato became tall and can see yellow flower, Can't wait to see it bears tomato soon.The eggplant is slightly taller. and replaces leaf.

初夏の美しさ / Beauty in early summer

鏡の田んぼ

ＧＷも終わり農家さんの田植えもほぼ終わりました。

田んぼは波がないので、鏡のように景色を映します。山や夕日、

そして月や星空。ボリビアのウユニ塩湖や中国の九寨溝までとはいきませんが、美しいです。

また田んぼからはカエルの大合唱が聞こえます。

冬の白、桜や水仙がカラフルに咲く春、田んぼや山の新緑の初夏

あ～改めてよいところだな～

I found mirror in the rice field

After long holiday, called Golden week.

most of farmer finish transplanting rice seed.

Because of no wave in rice filed, it is like mirror. That is no exaggeration to say that it is like Uyuni lake in Bolivia, or Jiuzhaigou in China.

Nowadays, I can listen to the chorus of frogs at night.

I really enjoy here because I can see the difference of season clearly.

花壇作業５ /Flowerbed 5

花壇のビフォーアフター

今の借家に移住して雪が解けたばかりの時の前庭はジャングルのようでした。木々や草がうっそうとし、蔦がからまって、前方が見えないくらい。

枝を剪定し、草を抜き、いらない木を切り倒し、絡まった蔦を撤去。

それにしても蔦の生命力はすごい。
庭の木を覆い隠すほど。また奥の木（桜と思ったら桃のよう）２本には地面から５～６ｍくらいの高さまで絡まりついてました。（それらもかなり撤去完了）

Before & After

After snow melt away, first thing I saw in my garden was jungle. I mean jungle-like trees.
Thai is because it hasn't taken care by anyone for 5,6 years.(just like photo above).
So I trim, uproot, and cut down some trees, then finally i could see the other side.

I'm aware how the ivy is strong, and has powerful life force within.
It covers all the small bushes, and then it grows up to the branch, which is 5-6 m height.
At last I could take care of it, otherwise it grows toward my house.
The nature is amazing, and the plants are alive. of course it is obvious,
But before I come here, I really didn't see how the nature is.
Now I know it. and live with nature, touch it, feel it, smell it ..etc
